A Thin Client is basically an advancement
over older Green Screen Terminals, it allows users to connect to a
server and work with programs and files which are all run and stored on
the server.
A Windows Based Terminal is a type of thin client that uses a Microsoft
operating system (Windows CE) and is optimised for connection to a
Microsoft Terminal Server, the main difference being that now the user
gets to work in the Windows environment. From the users point of view
they could be sat at a normal PC which is running Windows NT4/Windows
2000/2003 Professional (depending on the server that the thin client is
connected to) and are able to do everything they can productivity wise
when using a PC. |
